STAGE 1 - RESEARCH

Stephen:
Now there are 2 parts of Stage 1.
1st is colony management (building up your planet)
2nd is research

Research
After building some infrastructure, you can conduct research.
To get there click on Research (see below).



Now select what you would like to research. (see below).



There are 2 things you can research:-
  1. Infrastructure upgrade
  2. Technology tree

Stephen:
If you are new and Terran, I suggest you to follow the following...

     

  1. Research your commercial up to level 5.

    2.  

  2. Alternate between researching and building some infrastructure on your colony.

    3.  

  3. Then research the Research Tree until you get frigate class ships. as the bare minimum, though all ships should be researched at some point to provide a diversity of ships during play. Colony Clusters found on your research tree enable you to hold more planets.

    4. Things you should know:-

       

    1. 1 level of commercial infrastructure research upgrade = 10% increase in to your income.

    2. Refer to the manual for more information on the research tree
