What is it ?
Explore sends out your fleet to find new planets to colonize. Colonization is done automatically and you are not required to build any special ships to colonize a planet.
 
How to explore better
Exploring relies on the scanning power of your entire fleet. This means the more ships with higher scanning power, the less turns you will spend to find new planets.
 
Also the more planets you have the harder it is to find new planets.
 
Tips
Try to develop your existing planets first then only explore for new ones.
 
If you are a new player then try not to build any ships first. This is so you can stay under protection for a longer period.
