TRADE VISITS

What is it ?

Trade visits are people visiting the trade center of your empire. This can be merchants, space traders and just about anyone. Your trade center charges an amount of credit for each time these `traders` dock with your trade center. You may stand to gain a significant amount of credits if you have a steady flow of trade visits.

How this works ?

There are two ways you get trade visits.
1. Someone clicks on your `trade visit` link
2. Someone clicks on your `trade partner invitation link`

Each person will dock (or visit your trade center) when they click on any of those links. If those people signup then you will gain bonus of income from a trade partner; on top of the credits you earn for the trade visit.

The visitor is required to pay you a daily docking fee. That means you will only be paid one single `trade visit` a day, no matter how many times your `visitor` clicks on the `trade visit` link. This is restricted to daily visits, which means that you may earn credits if you receive visits from the same visitor on the next day.

How to get more trade visitors ?

Popups
If you own a website, then simply copy the javascript popup to your website. You will then automatically gain one trade visit for each person who visits your website. Remember to replace the [your-trade-id] with your trade ID

<script language="JavaScript">
window.open('http://spacefed.com/gc/i.cfm?p=main&trf=[your-trade-id]','Blank');
</script>

Cyber cafe
If you set the cybercafe's computer's homepage or startup page to that of your `trade visit link` then you are ensured that you will receive a trade visit every single day.
How to make the computer's homepage to your `trade visit link` ?
Tools > Internet Options

Home PC
Just like the cyber cafe example, you can set your home computer's homepage/startup page to your trade visit link. This allows you to gain trade visits if any of your family members, friends of even yourself uses your computer on the internet.

Email
You can email the link to your friends, asking them to click on the link. This by far is one of the most effective ways of bringing in more trade visits. As a reminder, sending email to unknown people with out their approval first is considered spam mail. Spam mail is an illegal act in certain countries in the world. Players may face actions if there is any complains regarding abusers of spam mail. Please think of others as yourself because I am sure you wouldn't like to receive marketing and junk emails. This is happening more and more due to the fact that the offender is very unlikely to be caught.

Chat systems
Chat system comprises of IRC, ICQ, MSN/Yahoo messangers and many other chat software / sites out there. You may post up the link if you own a channel (IRC) or discussion topic. This by far is one of the most effective ways of bringing in more trade visits. Just like spam mail, sending out vast numbers of messages to unknown people with out their approval first is considered spam or flood. Although the player may receive vast amounts of clicks on their link, these players may face actions if there is any complains. Please think of others as yourself because I am sure you wouldn't like to receive spam and marketing/promotional messages even though most of the time people do not complain and the fact that the offender is very unlikely to be caught.

Others
There are many other various ways of getting more trade visits. Among them are discussion boards, forums, newsgroups and many other. You may discover that you may get better results if you post up your link with a creative and attractive header or message, especially in related topics. For example, more players are likely to click on your link if the topic is related to games (because this is also a game).
As a reminder, some of these sites may be moderated therefore please ensure you abide by the no-spam / and no-flood policy. It is however acceptable by most sites to put the link in your signature.
Example of signature:-
